Revision policy template
A revision policy defines how many rounds of feedback are included — and what happens when clients want more.
What a revision policy should include
Spell these rules in the contract and enforce them in the workflow:
- Number of revision rounds per milestone (e.g. 2 or 3)
- Feedback must be consolidated per round
- New concepts or deliverables = change order, not a revision
- Approval required before next milestone starts
Sample contract language
"Each milestone includes [2] consolidated revision rounds. Additional rounds or material direction changes require a signed change order. Work not listed in the Statement of Work is out of scope."
Enforce policy in the workflow
Paper policy fails without tracking. Zlaip shows revision usage inline (e.g. 2/3) and blocks silent over-limit work.
